Tequila Lime Shrimp Tostadas

Serves: 4-6
A new twist on the classic combo of tequila and lime, these shrimp tostadas are the perfect meal.

  • 4 crispy tortilla tostadas
  • 1 cup refried beans
  • 1/4 cup Rizo Bros Cotija Cheese, grated
  • 1/2 round peeled shrimp
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 2 tbsp crushed garlic
  • 1 shot tequila (Anejo preferred)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 lime, juiced and zested
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp each salt and pepper


  1. Heat large skillet to medium high heat
  2. Warm refried beans in a small sauce pan
  3. Place butter in pan followed by shrimp
  4. Stir for about 30 seconds and add garlic
  5. Season with cumin, salt, and pepper
  6. Once shrimp is cooked through, turn up heat
  7. Add tequila and stir until alcohol dissipates
  8. Spread refried beans on tostadas
  9. Top tostadas with shrimp
  10. Squeeze lemon juice on top of tostada
  11. Top with avocado and Rizo Bros Grated Cotija Cheese
