Mexican Hot Chocolate

Serves: 2-4
This hot chocolate is wonderful for a romantic Valentine's treat or morning beverage.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 cups milk of choice
  • ¼ cup cacao powder
  • ¼ cup milk chocolate chips
  • ¼ – ½ cup sugar
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • ⅛ tsp cayenne pepper
  • Pinch of salt

PREPARATION:

  1. Combine all ingredients into a large pot on the stovetop over medium low heat. Start with ¼ cup sugar, and then add more if you want it sweeter.
  2. Whisk while bringing the mixture to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let simmer for about 10-15 minutes. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  3. Serve immediately!
